Moreover, you also get to explore the holiest site for Buddhist and the Hindus ‘Gurudongmar lake,’ travel around Lachung Village and Yumthang valley covered with various species of Rhododendrons, orchids, and many other Alpine flowers and lastly take a dip into the famous hot spring known for its curative properties of skin diseases.

Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bagdogra, airport transfers to Gangtok via Rangpo traversing through small roadside villages along the way. In the evening take a short walking tour through iconic MG Marg Avenue - a pedestrian boulevard and browse the colorful Lal Bazaar food/vegetable market. Overnight in Gangtok.

After breakfast we proceed towards Lachen. Along the way pass through KabiLungtsok, Mangan, Bhim Naga Waterfalls and seven seven sisters Waterfall. Singhik view point is located about 4kms from Mangan on the way to Lachen, surrounded by lush green hills and the Teesta river flowing below and offers a splendid view. After a short break we continue our drive to Chungthang- it’s a one-horse town surrounded by bountiful nature. From here the road bifurcates, one goes to Lachung and the other to Lachen. Lunch at a wayside restaurant in Chungthang, after lunch continue to Lachen and reach Lachen in the evening or in the late afternoon. Overnight in Lachen.

Early morning breakfast drive to Gurudongmar Lake across the Thangu and the Chopta valley. Thangu and Chopta valleys are beautiful alpine valleys dotted with small wooden houses and yaks grazing around. This valley is usually covered with snow from December to April. In the summer months the valley is carpeted with multi-hued colors of wild flowers. After exploring around, we continue to Gurudongmar lake. Gurudongmar lake is considered to be the most holy site for the Buddhist and the Hindus. After the visit drive back to Lachen for lunch. After lunch continue our drive to Lachung. Overnight in Lachung.

After breakfast drive towards Yumthang valley also popularly known as the valley of flowers. In spring the valley is covered with various species of Rhododendrons, orchids and many other Alpine flowers in full bloom. Depending upon weather conditions we spend time walking and enjoying the landscape and return back to Lachung for lunch. On the way back we can visit the famous hot spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases. After lunch continue our drive back to Gangtok. Overnight in Gangtok.

Everything was handled for us from the moment we landed. Our guide read the group perfectly, slowed the pace when we needed it, and knew every village along the way. I never once worried about logistics.
We travelled as a couple and the small group made all the difference. Comfortable lodges, honest advice about the altitude, and a team who clearly loved the mountains. Booking on our own dates was easy.
You can tell this is run by people from here, not a call centre abroad. The itinerary had proper rest days built in, the food was better than I expected, and the whole thing ran to time.
